EXEC SQL INQUIRE_SQL - DB2 conversion from Ingres

Hello,

I am currently converting multiple programs from Ingres to DB2. Most
are using the INQUIRE_SQL feature to check number of rows updated,
deleted or inserted into the tables. Does anyone know the syntax for
DB2 or if there is a similiar feature?

Syntax is as follows:

EXEC SQL INQUIRE_SQL (:variablename = rowcount);
