I downloaded (DB2_V81_ESE_LNX_32_NLV.tar) and installed (using
"db2_install" script) a DB2 for Linux, Trial-Version [1].
I installed and configured DB2 as described in "Installation and
Configuration Supplement" - Manual, but now I have a problem, I want to
install the licence, but I cannot find any license-file.
As described in the manual I should do something like:
/opt/IBM/db2/V8.1/adm/db2licm -a
/usr/local/src/009_ESE_LNX_32_NLV/db2/license/db2dlm.lic
(/usr/local/src/009_ESE_LNX_32_NLV/ is the directory where I extracted the
downloaded .tar-file to.)
But in my licence-directory there is no file like db2dlm.lic or something
like this. I only can find a lot of licences in ASCII-format for many
languages. I think this has something to do that I have a TRIAL-Version, or
perhaps something to do with downloading and not using a CD?
Where can I get a license-file from, so I can try out DB2?
Thank you!
Kind regards,
Andreas Korthaus

The license file is only used for paid-for licenses. If you're using a
trial version, no license is required. DB2 will detect this and
automatically go into try-and-buy mode.

Thank You!
For how long can I test DB2 Trial?
regards
Andreas
I believe it's 90 days, but DB2 will tell you when you try to start it -
it'll give you a warning about how many days are left.
