I have many comma delimited files (DEL files)
created on a PC. I'm a PC literate type, but
not a mainframe person.
On the PC these DEL files import or load quickly into
the pc-based DB2 servers, Oracle, other tools etc.
I want to be able to IMPORT those DEL files to DB2/MVS.
On the MVS host, what are the options for using
import or load of such files ?
Does DB2/MVS understand DEL and IXF formats?
The files are already transferred and converted to EBCDIC.
There are three versions of DB2/MVS (3,4,5) to
choose from.

Hallo PC person ;-)
so far as I know you can only import data from PC to Host by using the
IXF-Format.

IBM Load wants it in a fixed format, or a variable format where you specify
the length attribute.
BMC Load I believe has a comma delimited format, at home and don't have my
manuals with me.
If you can pad your comma delimited file to make it look fixed, then you
could simply "skip" the comma and load as a fixed record...
Or look into the BMC utilities, if you have them!
