Hi,

Can any body help or advise me please in the above venture.

I am trying to get my DB2 UDB server on Sun Solaris to talk to my Sybase
server also on the
same platform but a different machine to talk to each other. The
configuration from Sybases end
seems to be trivial and I have already implemented that. But I have no
idea what is necessary to
configure from the DB2 end in order to get these two to talk to each
other.

Any help or advice in this matter would be much appreciated.

Please email me directly as well posting to this newsgroup.

TIA,
Naran.

You need IBM Datajoiner if you want to have a single SQL statement go
against data in both databases.

Hello.
When you say 'talk to sybase' do you mean being able to issue sql calls
to sybase from a db2 user, or do you just need to be able to access data
from DB2 or Sybase and move it (and or changing it) to the other DBMS.
If it is the later, you might want to look at the Move for Servers abd
extraction and insertion tool from Princeton Softech. Details can be
found on www.princetonsoftech.com

Cheers. Alan.
