qmf - alternative query columns

is there in a QMF forms the ability to show in a report columnn
the value of different data columns depending on the value of a
certain data column?

I'm not very clear on what you are actually trying to do. I can think of at
least two or three ways to interpret your question, each of which would have
a different answer. If you can clarify precisely the scenario you want to
achieve, I can probably give you a more comprehensive answer.

However, as an initial remark, you can *probably* do what you want with some
combination of FORM.CONDITIONS, QMF's REXX support and QMF's variable
capabilities.

I haven't used QMF in several years now so I'm rusty now. However, I was
pretty fluent at one point and I have access to the manuals (but not to a
copy of QMF itself) so I may be able to answer your question in more detail
if you make it more specific. (I could do even better if you could give me
access to a QMF system, maybe a small test system that actually had a bit of
sample data in it. ;-)

It would help to know which version of QMF you are running and on what
platform. CICS, for example, does not support some features that may be
critical for your requirements.

thanks for offering help. meanwhile I found a other solution
using the FORM.DETAILS and the FORM.CONDITIONS panel.
