Delphi ODBC and DB2/2

I'm trying to use Delphi to access DB2/2 via IBM's ODBC driver.
However when I try to run the applications from within the Delphi IDE
I get a Windows error. Setting the debug options on the ODBC driver
gives error messages. The application seems to run OK from outside the
IDE - although I still get some ODBC errors.

Has anybody else had this problem? Is it Delphi or IBM ODBC? Is there
a fix?

Doug

Doug,

You can use the Dr. DeeBee ODBC tools from my company to track down
problems like this. Check out our webpage at:

Hi Doug:

In order to help solve this problem, I need additional info:

What errors are you getting when you try to connect?
What fixpak level have you applied to DB2/2.

I can try to solve this problem after you send me this info.
If the problem requires a trace, you may want to consider
opening a pmr with IBM DB2 Support at 1-800-992-4777.

General info: DB2/2 is currently at fixpak us8110 which is
available either from CompuServe, Lib 1 or ftp.software.ibm.com.
/ps/products/db2/fixes/english-us/db22v21.
A new trace facility is available as of fixpak us8090. It is called
a cli/odbc trace. We may require this in the future.

the Delphi "SQL Links", found on the Delphi 2.0 CD-ROM, in the SQL16
directory. Run SETUP.EXE, pick DB2, and it will install the driver into
your existing IDAPI directory. Then just create an alias.

We had similar difficulty with the native IBM ODBC drivers.

Hope this helps.

In article <502ce6$b...@nuntius.u-net.net> <3225F4...@amfam.com>,
David, I am having trouble with the 16-bit SQLlinks driver.
I got the native driver from the Paradox for Windows 7.0 CD.
But other than that I did exactly as you described above.
I can connect to the database, however the problem is
that when I try to open tables with a DATE field in the first column,
I usually get a message from DBD that it cannot open the table
because of the Date field.
My question to you is , does this native driver use the IBM CAE
ODBC or does it just ignore it?

Here is my setup:
CAE v2.1.1
SQLlinks 16-bit for DB2 from PW7 CD
BDE 2.52 (downloaded from Borland.com)
Delphi 1.02
Please help me if you can.

When trying to run the program from within the Delphi IDE
I get an internal Windows error 15.
From outside the IDE the program runs fine.

I havent applied any! I'm using version 2.1.1

How can I find out which fixpaks to apply?

I have the same problem and applied the fixpaks. I only have the
evaluation version of DB2/2 that came with the Devcon CD and after
applying the fixes my eval licence was no longer valid. Is there any
way to get the fixes applied to the eval copy. Until I verify that
Delphi works OK with DB2 I am bit reluctant to spend any $$$ on a full
licenced copy.

Hi:

Things to try:

Place the line: keepstatement=0 in the db2cli.ini
This may solve your problem.
If you still have problems, go to your command prompt and
type syslevel. What is the current csd level for the IBM DB2
Client Application Enabler for Windows? Its probably us8081.
It is advisable that you install us8091, then us8111. These are
the DB2 windows fixpaks to bring you to the current level.
Several fixes have been applied to odbc.
Just wondering, are you able to connect from a native windows
session? What about from the cli?
