Hi all,

I have just installed UDB 7.1 on my DELL which runs WIN98. I keep
getting DB21061E on command window, even after I run db2cmd.exe.
Does anybody know how to resolve this?

Thanks.

I don't know what's wrong, but have you tried the

db2cmd.exe ? 21061E

to see the detailed explanation?

Yes, I did. It suggests using db2cmd to initialize the command
environment. I still get the same thing.

In case there is a problem with the workgroup edition, I downloaded
personal edition too and installed it. It ended up having the same
error. Funny thing is that everything else works fine except the
command window, which means I cannot execute any

db2 -tvf input.sql -z output.txt

type command from the command window.

Any suggestions?

TIA

Jiang

There are two ways to slove it,
1. Go to SQLLIB\BIN directory to execute it or
2. Put <drive:>\SQLLIB\BIN in ur PATH

Hope this helps.

I had a (somewhat) similar problem when I installed DB2 V7.1 on
Windows ME, and it turns out it was because Windows ME's default
Environment size is too small. To make matters worse, in Windows ME you
can no longer specify an Environment size in your "config.sys"... I had
to open a window, edit the properties of that window (bumped the
Environment size up to the max), then run "db2cmd" from there.

Hope that helps...

Hi Larry,

Indeed I am running Windows ME on my DELL. After setting the
environment size up to max (4096 I think), it worked.

Thanks for your help!
