Hi,
I have a problem with Btrieve.
Please note it's the first time I put my hand on Btrieve.
The database is connected with a program that should start/stop
Btrieve and so on. I've not any source code of the program so I have
to work directly on the DB.

Since last week nothing works.

I get this error messages when I try the tools I have to check
Btrieve:

BREQUEST
BREQUEST-10: The function IPXInitialize returned an error.

BREQUTIL
BREQUTIL - Btrieve Requester Utility Version 6.10b
Copyright 1982 - 1994 Btrieve Technologies, Inc. All Rights Reserved.

BREQUTIL-8: Btrieve is not loaded.

(So the Btrieve version should be 6.10b)

CHECKDB.EXE (check consistency)
There are no problems found in your database.

I have not other ways to load btrieve and i have not idea what to do.
The PC is running Win 98 and there is also a mySQL DB running on it.
Are they in conflict, maybe?

Please help!

Thank you
Sandra

The Brequest message states that your network protocol IPX/SPX has
returned an error. There should not be a problem with mySQL on itself.
Some other program install may have wrecked up your Novell client
however and replaced files with incompatible versions. You could start
by trying to reinstall the (latest) Novell client.

Gordon,
thank you but unfortunately I've not installed anything on this PC for a long time.
Simple, Btrieve stops last Wednesday and I cannot understand why.
Any other idea would be very helpful!

Thank you Sandra

....another possibility is that the network interface card is simply
broken. This is not always as obvious as it sounds; a broken NIC may
still give you limited networking that could very well mask the source
of the problem.

Sandra,

I assume your server is NetWare ?

You can run rconsole from your client to verify ipx/spx is working
correctly workstation.

Are there other workstations in your office that can load brequest?
