Using Maximizer 97is and btrieve server for NT, I found that the clients
would never connect to the server. Thus the database was being opened up by
at least 10 servers (the workstations), one would crash, the database would
get corrupted, the other servers would play with the corrupted data, messy
messy messy.

By copying the files W32bticm.dll and Wbtrv32.dll from the server to the
clients' system32 (or system for 95) directory, the clients started
connecting properly.
You can view the connections using MKDE monitor on the server. If the
"licenses in use" counter never moves above zero, then you may have the same
problem I did.
