Download a trial version of Pervasive.Sql from
www.pervasive.com. It's
fully functional but time bombed (30 or 60 days, I forget). There are 3
versions of the product, for Novell, NT and Workstation based engine.
Pick the one that works for you. If your database isn't too large,
choose workstation engine and copy the files to your ws. After setting
up the product, you should look for something called DDFEase, which
ought to be in the Pervasive.SQL program group. DDFEase will read your
btrieve files and make some educated guesses about your database
structure using the built in indexes of each file. It will show you the
structure of the indexed fields only (which isn't too bad), except
without the field names. It will show you the underlying data even for
the non-indexed columns it can't figure out, but they'll be all run
together. If you've got any documentation at all, or at least some
knowledgeable users, you should be fine.
Good luck,
Keith McCoslin
