Turning html off in iSQL

My goal is to have my iSQL output go in a file, without the html markup
code, just plain text.

The following usage is shown for the MARKUP parameter:
Usage: SET MARKUP HTML [ON|OFF] [HEAD text] [BODY text]
[TABLE text] [ENTMAP {ON|OFF}] [SPOOL {ON|OFF}] [PRE[FORMAT] {ON|OFF}]
yet when I try "set markup html off" I get the following:
SP2-0158: unknown SET MARKUP HTML option "OFF"
Why doesn't that work as advertised? How can I get this to work?
