We just had a demo from a Rand rep where I work, and he was really
pushing this new product for Pro-E. It was a conduit between VBA and
Pro-E (can't remember the name) that would allow you to program stuff in
VBA (through excel, word, VB, or whatever) and have it control Pro-E. I
think it cost like $5K or $10K (memory doesn't serve, the demo was a
week ago actually).

I can only assume that they are trying to fill a known gap in their
product that SW has filled very well already, without the additional
$5K.

All this is already included in SolidWorks. No extra applications..

They can really try to fill the gap.. but its just getting wider and wider..

Why pay $5K or $10K for an API ?

Jesus..

My sentiments exactly. If you really want to see the wide gap, go check
out some of the other add-ons that pro-e offers vs. the same add-ons
that SW offers. Man, talk about highway robbery.
