I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself; I'm Greg
Jankowski, Customer Satisfaction Manager for SolidWorks Corporation. I have
recently joined the company after being a customer and solution partner
since SolidWorks 95. I was also the person that wrote the charter and formed
this newsgroup.
The main benefit of this open, non-moderated forum is positive, useful,
user-to-user communication. We also believe that this group adds significant
value to the SolidWorks community. I, on behalf of SolidWorks, will start
participating in the group where it is appropriate and where it adds value
to the community.
- All posts will be from SolidWorks Corporation (newsg...@solidworks.com)
- Follow all guidelines set within the groups' charter and Usenet guidelines
- Announcements on the availability of a service pack, new version, etc.
- Encourage positive, professional use of the newsgroup to increase its
value
- Supply information and background to threads where the information may not
be within the user community (i.e., Numbering of service packs, etc.)
- We will not post to threads that are negative, personal, or product
comparison in nature
- SolidWorks will not provide technical support through this forum
I am looking forward to working with, and as an advocate for, the user
community. It is my hope that we can work together to strengthen and
continue to add value to the entire user community.
I would also like to extend an invitation to those users who are attending
SolidWorks World to stop by and introduce your self. One of the best reasons
to attend user conferences is many of the intangible aspects like networking
with other users, SolidWorks personnel, and our partners.
Regards,
Greg Jankowski

Congrats & Best Wishes!
I'm encouraged to see 'official' participation in this newsgroup, and look
forward to an enhanced SolidWorks newsgroup. I'm a firm believer that a
little extra effort here can really work wonders.

'Spork'
I echo the WELCOME!
It's too bad the subject headline you used didn't read "SolidWorks
Corp. Introduces Posting Participation" or something to that effect,
which could better catch the attention of this newsgroup's audience...
Looking forward to weaving threads with you,

I attended a class you co-taught last year in Orlando as well as read a few
of your articles in various pubs and I'm really looking forward to having
you participate with us. Your knowledge and background will benefit all of
us and, if there's anything we can do for you, please ask!

Greg,
Welcome! I'm glad to see that SW feels they should have a presence here.
Best of luck with this sometimes fractious group.

This is an outstanding development on the part of SW. Welcome to the group!

We welcome you to the discussion. Things can get pretty fiesty here
so you better go out and put on that asbestos underwear.
Thanks for the intro,
I'm guessing you aren't writing CBT for SolidWorks any longer? I
bought some from you many moons ago when I had the misfortune of being
a VAR.
Cheers,

Greg,
also a Welcome from a german customer. Nice to read you :-))
Are there any plans to collect your posts to offer them on the
website (for those who don't read this group regular) or in
your newsletter SolidWorks Express?
And for the "foreign" customers: are there any plans to have
these posts collected and translated?
Bye,
Stefan
