I have made a simple macro for changing
complexstring into linestrings and
complexshape into shapes.

It works if the toggles are:

drop to: line string
method: chord height
chord height: 0

One must remember that a Complex String is just multiple Line and
Linestring elements being treated a single element. If you look at the
DGN file using EDG, you will notice a Complex String header element
followed by a series of Line and Linestring elements that are part of
that chain. Also be aware that Line elements have a max of 2 vertices
and Linestring elements have a max of 101 vertices. If you "Drop
Complex" on a Complex String, it simply deletes the Complex String
header and treats the component Line and Linestring elements as
independent elements.

Thus, due to the 101 max vertice limit for linestrings, you may not be
able to have a single linestring per complex string.
