Hello

My company is planning to upgrade from R12 DOS to R13c4 for Win95 or NT
(not sure yet). We've never been all that happy with the earthwork
quantity calc methods, or the ease/stability of point files with R12.
Does anyone know if the Softdesk add-ons have kept pace with the advances
made with Autocad R13c4? What is the current compatible version? I'd
appreciate any thoughts.

Thanks

Softdesk CORE 7.5 supports R13 & Win95

Core is available "free" from Softdesk, at their website, as for your
other programs compatability with Core 7.5, I really cant answer that,
but I do know that they have upgraded many of their applications to be
compatable with R13, Its possable you could find more useful info at
their site "www.softdesk.com"

My company has just done the very same thing, gone from r12 DOS/ SDSK 7.1
to r13c4 / SDSK 7.5. I can only say preliminarly that the earthwork module
seems to have been greatly improved (this I say from reading the manual),
however I have as of yet not had an opportunity to actually do any earthworks
with it. My complaint was always that it didn't give you any error checking
information, just cut=X and fill=Y, it seems that you can get cut and fills by
sections and that one can create some kind of color map which is representative
of the depth of cut or fill, both of which would be greatly appriciated for
insuring
that your surfaces don't have any hole or discontinuities.

peace,
Jon
