Does anyone ever see Autocad 2000i for sale used, cheap?

I'm disabled and would just like to have it for home, to learn and see if I
could earn some money again.

Sorry, but used copies aren't legally avalable in the US, since Autodesk
prohibits the transfer of licenses between individuals.

But why mess with AutoCAD at all in your situation? You can download
IntelliCAD 2000 for free from http://www.cadopia.com, if you just want to
try your hand at CAD drafting. IntelliCAD is fully compatible with AutoCAD's
drawing file formats, and has essentially the same command and features
sets.

I've already done that and it's fine, but I'm hoping to find work again, in
Acad 2000i and need it to learn on at home.

That makes it pretty hopeless though, if people aren't even allowed to sell
their used package.

Melissa, there was a site that sold A2K software
that was bought from companies that never used it
so it was never registered,(you can sell it if it
isn't registered) if I remember correctly it was
about 1/2 price, but it's a dead link now in my
bookmarks

www.software-bargain.com

Don't know your location, but try http://www.mcneel.com - they
evidently are having a special pricing on r14. For my money r14 was
one of the best issues Autodesk ever distributed and it the truth were
known, it wouldn't surprise me if there are more copies of it in use
than any other issue. I have knowledge of and work with a lot of
different medium size A/E firms representing over 100 legal seats of
AutoCAD and I conservatively estimate that at least 90% are still
using r14.

McNeel says they can only sell in Washington state! I thought
Autodesk had removed that restriction regarding territories for their
dealers - am I mistaken?

AFAIK, Marshall, the "250 mile radius" rule still applies.

R14? Didn't see it there. Hear it will be discontinued soon, though.

Jeez, Autodesk seems like the evil empire! Why don't they just demand a tap
into your bank account, where they can take as much money as they want, to
let you keep using their package.
