Calling all AutoCAD wizards!

I do not own or use AutoCAD (yet) but I would like to know the following:

Can I paste .wmf files into AutoCAD from the clipboard as editable
objects?

I have a program that uses .wmf files for the graphics but it won't export
them. I can copy them to the Windows clipboard, then paste them into
Corel Draw! to edit and manipulate. Could I do this with AutoCAD?

Please respond via e-mail as I do not subscribe to this group.

Thanks kindly to all!

Gordon

No.It is not possible. It will be just pasted inside AutoCAD as a OLE
object.

You can bring WMF files into AutoCAD by using the WMFIN command. After
you explode them, you can edit them, but the results will probably not
be what you expect. Everything in the WMF file will be converted to
polylines made up of straight line segments, which is probably not
what you are looking for.

I don't know mch about how WMF files are stored but to me it seems
that the big difference is that AutoCAD is completely vector based,
while WMF files are a somewhat glorified raster file containing both
raster data and some type of vector data.

What type of drawings are you trying to create anyway?

Hi

Using AutoCAD you can export as well as import WMF files directly.
