Conner HD CFS1275A not detected by GA-586HX

Hello Folks,

maybe someone can help me with the following problem:
After the installation of my new mainboard (Gigabyte GA-586-HX) the
mashine has problems to detect the conner HD after switching it on.
Bad luck: the conner hd is the boot-device; so the mashine freezes with
the message "invalid partition table".
After pressing restart the board detects the HD most of the time and
boots. It doesn't help to switch off the autodetection in the BIOS and
write the HD parameters hardcoded into the bios; the the computer skips
the autodetection but stops also with the "invalid partition table".
Tools like the disk doctor doesn't detect any problem with the HD.

What else can I do?

try repartition and then reformat the hdd.

I know its old but I need one to use for parts to recovery data from mine
The data has lots of memories
