Maybe someone can let me in on the deal with esoft? I am seriously looking at
starting a bbs and have been gathering information for the last couple of month
s. I got a hold of both Galacticom (Major BBS) and esoft (TBBS) to get informa
tion concerning their products. Well it turns out that Galacticom sent me the
information in about 3 days. On the other hand I am still waiting for any info
rmation from esoft (about 3 weeks). So about 3 days I ago I dropped an e-mail
to one the esoft people who regularly respond to postings on this board telling
him my concerns and asking him a few questions I thought pertinant to the BBS
I want to set up. Do you think I have gotten a reply yet??? NOPE.

Now, I understand that both individuals and companies can get extremely busy.
Sometimes one or even both can take holidays, but can I expect these long delay
s before service all the time or is this just a 'unique' case? and if I decide
to buy TBBS (which I have been SERIOUSLY considering) can I expect the same se
rvice from the technical support?

Don't get me wrong, I have talked with serveral sysops who run TBBS and they th
ink it is GREAT and I have the two line version of TBBS for Bryants book (not y
et registered) and think it is a good product. I just want to be sure that whe
n I spend over $1000 dollars to buy the software that I am going to get some ki
nd of service and support.

If you could comment on this I would really appreciate any feedback so I can ma
ke the right decision! Ohh yaa its funny, in Bryant's book he states somewhere
that if you are going to tell a client (BBS users) that you are going to do som
ething you better do it, or chances are you are going to loose their business!

Curt,

I was very much in you place last August. After attending ONE BBSCON I
made the choice to purchase TBBS.

After using the software for about 9 months I can only say positive
comments about Esoft. There tech. support has been great and Phil Becker
always answers his email.

Now that there support board is telnettable - it makes them an even
better company. You might want to email Patty White in customer support -
she is great at following up.

Good Luck

Yo, BC Systems man, we're dealers in Vancouver for eSoft, and I'd be happy to
story you to no end on eSoft's virtues. Say hello to Jack Harvey for me, then
e-mail me at djo...@imagen.bc.ca or voice me at 687-7511 Vancouver.

We can set you up with imaging (Fracterm, Real Times) at the same time. Don't
miss the coming IPAD network by choosing hobbyist software instead of TBBS...

Dwight,

Is this to imply that The Major BBS is hobbyist software? Oh, and in
eSoft's defense - even sometimes the U.S. postal service makes
Galacticomm look bad. Please compare our products based on what is best
for your needs.
