Reply here if you like, but I'll be most likely to see it if you E-Mail
instead/also. :-)
Thanks in advance.

I follow you. :-) By "they" in "What clients will they be running," if
you mean the users, they'll just be running regular comm programs to dial
in. Yes, downloading/uploading would be nice, but it's not crucial, and
isn't even in the immediate plans for it. E-Mail is good. :-) And as I
mentioned, news needs to be via NNTP, since this machine won't have the
disk space needed to take a feed.
Ideas?

Well, I'd recommend using Lynx, with pine, tin, rz, sz etc. It can
function as a bbs if it is setup right, for instance that is basically
what the Edmonton Freenet here..I can help more if you need it even
though I'm not much of a Unix person, but I am experimenting with Linux.. :)

I am not sure if the BBS that I can think of off the top of my head has SPARC
version or not but two BBS sfotwares comes to my mind. Eagle BBS and
mbox2.6. I am running both on Linux box and mbox can even handle incoming
email to individual BBS user. You can implement rtin or trn with nntp within
the menu of mbox and I have not been successful in getting either trn or rtin
to run under Eagle BBS due to some permission and terminal set-up error.
mbox2.6 supports even CD-ROM directory. You can find the Linux version at
sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/system/BBS or something like that. I hope this
helps.
