So once upon a time, a long time ago I bought DMA Server..

Lost my HD of my actual dma server and never printed / wrote down the code for it ..

I lost the e-mail (hotmail long ago deleted it in a 30 day idle activity, since my primary email as a teenager was my BBS email)

I asked a few years ago to vircom, they said $500 to recover the code.. ouch.

Wondering if anyone has a code w/ Mutants on it so I could revive my favorite game and attached it to some BBS'.

Also, I have a very LARGE archive of stuff if anybody needs any tools... pretty much caught up to year 2002.

not sure to the best of my knowledge if it is the orig DMA server
file..it should have been toggled to your bbs registration number
whatever that is (the one given to you by worldgroup or major bbs when
you bought it)...using that code to your bbs and the bbs reg key
it should work?

i thought the file you get from vircom is simply registered to your
orig bbs codes

been a couple decades i could be remembering this wrong

if you have you wg or mbbs reg number but no act code..their
are/were? code generators for such reg codes look around for
those hack programs to tweak and get your orig bbs codes etc
back should work o this

again could be wrong what i remember..I'm likely wrong it has
been years

mbrad, there was a Vircom TCP/IP for allowing incoming connections to WG2. Wg had it built it, but it was pretty garbage .. I got it working and it was slooooow.

The DMA server allowed you to have 2 computers both running WG2 or MBBS Dos based, but transparently using RLogin (DMA incoming connection) you could select a door game from the menu that would transparently log you into a 2nd machine - allowed for clustering. It was great when WG3 came out and people still wanted to run their DOS games without having to setup 2 BBS'.

The users would still be able to use global command from the parent BBS and page, global chat, view user list as if they were part of the parent BBS, but they were on the 2nd. I had one edited mud running on my DOS, and a legit non edited on my WG3 front end and Mutants on my DMA server..

I looked through all my old hard drives years ago and couldn't find my dma server HD anywhere :(

Yohan,

Did you ever figure this out? Back in the day there was a bbs called dkeep.com that hosted a number of other BBS's for dkeep.com's Swords of Chaos game. At least 7 separate BBSs' users would connect to the dkeep.com Swords of Chaos server when the users entered the game from their own BBS.

For instance, one bbs was gaianet.net. So if a user on gaianet.net entered the SoC game, they would actually be entering the SoC game on dkeep.com. Dkeep.com kept track of the users from different BBS's by appending a character after the foreign bbs user's account name. So if user "example" from gaianet.net entered the SoC game, their in-game username would be "example_K" with the "_K" denoting the user was from gaianet.net.

Other BBSs had other appendages after their users' account names to differentiate.

I've been trying for a long time to figure out how dkeep.com was able to setup this host/guest Swords of Chaos game format. Do you think it was accomplished using this DMA server you are referencing? Please let me know.

Anybody running a public DMA server? It would be nice to be able to connect some games.
