Groff (GNU troff and related programs) version 1.07 is now available
for anonymous ftp from prep.ai.mit.edu:/pub/gnu/groff-1.07.tar.z
(about 820k). Diffs from version 1.06 are available from the same
place as groff.diff-1.06-1.07.z (about 140k). You will need the gzip
package to uncompress these files (you can get this from
prep.ai.mit.edu:/pub/gnu as well).
Groff is written in C++, and can be compiled by a number of different
C++ compilers, including gcc 2.3.3, and cfront 2.1.
Groff includes implementations of troff, pic, eqn, tbl, refer, the
-man macros and the -ms macros, and drivers for PostScript, TeX dvi
format, and typewriter-like devices. Also included is a modified
version of the Berkeley -me macros, and an enhanced version of the X11
xditview previewer. There is also an implementation of the -mm macros
contributed by Joergen Haegg (j...@efd.lth.se).
This release includes many bug fixes and other small improvements (see
the NEWS file for a complete description), but no major new features.
Please report bugs to bug-...@prep.ai.mit.edu.
