Simtel.Net, located at Walnut Creek CDROM, is the origin point of Keith
Petersen's world-wide distribution network for Shareware, Freeware, and
Public Domain programs for MS-DOS, Windows 3.x, and Windows 95.
FTP.Simtel.Net is the name of the primary distribution site for these
collections. It is actually several ftp sites arranged in a rotating
pattern of IP addresses to help balance the load and to avoid access
problems due to network outages and simultaneous user limits. At the
present time ftp.cdrom.com, ftp.uoknor.edu, and oak.oakland.edu are the
primary sites.
