Has anybody every used a Nokia GSM phone (any model) in an embedded
system. i.e. Has anybody any information on the serial command protocol
used, or any pinout details of the connector on the bottom of the phone
?

We use Nokia GSM phones (and other brands too) with our embedded system
which is a mobile fax for GSM. We connect to the phone via a PC-Card or
IrDA. It works great.

If you want to connect directly to the phone using your own HW and SW I
think you are in trouble. NOKIA use a protocol (MBUS) which I think you would
have to enter some sort of agreement with them to use. This is because you
can seriously mess up things using it. Using a PC-Card with NOKIAS drivers
is ok however. If you are using windows yiu could use the TAPI drivers.

This is from our experience with the 8110, 2110 and 6080.
