I've been experimenting recently with Thomas Wagner's CTask multitasking
kernel for DOS. It seems pretty good, and free source and the lot, but
nobody seems to have done anything with it since about 1994. The later
links point to Austin Code Works, which seems to be defunct- the last
thing I can find out about them is that they were being kicked in the
groin by US giverment regarding PGP.

So the question is:

(1) What happened to Thomas Wagner and Ferrari Gmbh?

(2) Is anyone working on CTask now, if so where is it?

Sorry if this is FAQ, but with Deja News still out...

Paul,

The last version of CTASK I found was 2.2d. I have seen a CPPTASK
project around, which is a C++ translation. The readme said it was
almost complete, with only the printer and clock drivers missing.

I use CTASK in current projects, and have had little need for support.
There were some early problems getting the config files straightened
out, where they misused the BIOS and DOS labels rather freely. But
since then it has been trouble free. I run it on DR-DOS 5 and I have
replaced the clock ISR and added some options to the serial drivers. I
sent email to Mr. Wagner's BIX address once, but got neither a reply
nor a bounce.
