I'm limited to 2 KB program space. (811E2) So i'm looking for the most
efficient C-compiler.
I can program the 811E2 in assembly, but i want to get some experience in
C-programming also.
Any suggestions and / or experience?

Thanks,
Henk.

Cosmic has a minimal footprint of maybe 100 bytes and generates very efficient
code, often better then assembly since it doesn't have to create readable
structured looking stuff.

Hi

The most efficient C-compiler I have seen for the 68HC05, 68HC11, H8-300,
and the PIC processors are from HT-Soft. www.ht-soft.com

I tested this compiler against IAR for both the HC11 and the H8-300, some
routines were up to 30% less with the Hi-Tech compiler.

Regards Jens

Pay a visit too ImageCraft www.imagecraft.com they have a fairly good
compiler that can be downloaded for a 30 day period, NO RESTRICTIONS!

The Introl compiler generates tight code for the HC11.
http://www.introl.com

They have a good deal for non-commercial use.

Hmm, Introl didn't answer my emails and my posting to their mailing
list. I think they don't want to deal with me. I wonder what happened.

The HC811E2 is discontinued. Either build a HC11 system with external
memory (because the windowed 711E9 is expensive) or use the HC08
familiy, e.g. the 68HC908GP32.
