To DEMONSTRATE I would take blink-a-LED source program, compile it, download
it, and see the LED blinking. Now change the source to a different blink
frequency, and go again. Start for instance with

Of course VERIFICATIION could require much more effort.
And I second what someone already remarked: the 16f84 is obsolete (in fact
it is no longer produced), the 16f84a is still produced but certainly
obsolete too, go for a 16f628 or 16f877.
