SOFTWARE: Lotus 123 v 2.2
HARDWARE: Unique 386SX 20(?), no mouse, no coprocessor
PROBLEM: When scrolling, the computer intermittently gives the error
"Formula Too Long". The computer freezes up and the user must reboot.
OBSERVATIONS:
1) more than one file may lock up
2) files act okay on other machines
3) happens when scrolling
4) it can occur in either empty or full cells
5) the Lotus originals installed acceptably on other machines
ACTIONS TAKEN TO DATE:
1) ran Nortons v. 6, found some crosslinked files, problem was
corrected
2) Lotus was reinstalled in original directory. The directory was not
cleaned first
3) Keyboard was replaced
4) floppy drive controller card was replaced
5) Looked at the AUTOEXEC.BAT and deleted the MIRROR.EXE commmand
6) Looked for and did not find a Zenix mouse driver
7) Changed the CONFIG.SYS, setting the machine code to default in the
HIMEM.SYS line (/m:1).
SUGGESTED ACTIONS (by Lotus):
1) Look for a Zenix mouse driver -not found
2) Remove math coprocessor option within setup -unecessary
3) Boot clean w/o CONFIG.SYS or AUTOEXEC.BAT -untried.
Sorry I didn't include my address in the first posting, I am still
figuring this editor out.
