In Excel version 5.0c, if I highlight a range of cells & do a copy
followed by paste special & select formulas, it copies explicit values
and text as well. How do I get it to copy formulas only ? Help
appreciated.

Poor terminology in the Paste Special dialog. 'Formulas' should read
'Contents'. Work-around: follow the procedure as you've already outlined, but
after pasting everything, select the pasted range, then Edit->Goto->Special,
select Constants and make sure all check boxes (confusingly) below Formulas
are checked, hit Enter or click OK, and finally Edit->Clear->All. You could
record these extra steps in a macro.
