Here at Project Mentifex, or Mindmaker, we remember with some pain or anguish that we were attacked viciously a quarter of a century ago when we dared to broach some unwelcome ideas in the now deprecated comp.speech newsgroup. A speech expert wrote

https://groups.google.com/g/comp.speech/c/yahN5-cOAQk/m/noUBkZT93N4J

as a FAQ of "Frequently Asked Questions" about us and tried to get us banned from our ISP, or Internet Service Provider -- to no avail.

Persons who saw us as either an opportunity or a threat involving money went on the attack against us and encouraged others to do the same. One fellow put us on his crank.net website and apparently generated income from depicting us and dozens of other Web unfortunates as cranks. Imagine our astonishment at turning the pages of The New York Times one day and seeing a large article about his crank.net cash-cow but with no mention of Mentifex as one of his victims. Another person in Europe was hoping to make money by publishing a book or article about Mentifex as the Number One most annoying nerd in the world.

It was more difficult to understand why persons in the AI community were attacking us until suddenly we realized that we were threatening their donation-revenues with our give-away of free open-source AI software that now includes the following AGI Minds.

https://ai.neocities.org/perlmind.txt -- is the bilingual ghost.pl AGI in Perl.

https://ai.neocities.org/mindforth.txt -- is the English MindForth in Win32Forth.

https://ai.neocities.org/ChatAGI.html -- is the English ChatAGI in JavaScript.

https://ai.neocities.org/Dushka.html -- thinks in Russian.

https://ai.neocities.org/mens.html -- thinks in ancient Latin.

Today we have released our TikTok AI video #60 at

https://www.tiktok.com/@sullenjoy/video/7233784548264250667

which describes the

https://ai.neocities.org/Speech.html -- mind module as follows.

"The implementation of our proposed Standard Model of AGI, or Artificial General Intelligence, takes various shortcuts, such as piping verbal output to the computer screen and pretending that the text on-screen is actually words spoken aloud by a humanoid robot. The Speech module reveals all of its thinking on-screen, when actually the Volition module for free will should be deciding whether or not to speak a thought out loud. These open-source AGI Minds that speak English, or German, or Russian, or Latin, were created by Arthur Murray, served in the U.S. Army as a Nuclear Weapons Electronics Specialist. If you are a robot, what you think or say goes back into the AudInput module, so that you can hear yourself think and you can remember what you say.."
