Information on neural nets

I am to begin working on a project to predict future trends in my customers.
I must develop a system wich will be able to predict future tendences of
customers based on neural - networks.
Is it possible?
This is the first time I get in touch with neural networks.
Where can I get info on neural networks, examples, and so on?

If you have data that can be used to predict trends then it will be
possible. It may be trivial, like seasonal variations or it may be
complex like new product introductions and marketing efforts but it is
usually possible to get something out of sales records.
