Machine learning, genetic algorithms, parallel computing and
financial applications
The company
EXQIM - Exclusive Quantitative Investment Management is a start-up
company created on June 19th 2009
and located in Paris. EXQIM is a financial company whose objective is
to manage financial assets using an
exclusively quantitative approach. The quantitative models will be
developed by a highly qualified team in
the area of mathematics and computing. Our recruitment policy targets
applicants with a strong
entrepreneur spirit and showing top qualifications in their area of
specialization. The pillars of our success
will be mathematical and computer science research. During the next 6
to 12 months, the EXQIM team will
set up collaborations and partnerships with various Laboratories,
Universities and Elite Schools in France
and elsewhere in Europe. This process will allow us to be at the
forefront of research and of technology, to
make us one of the best quantitative teams on the market. This
research activity will result in the creation of
an investment fund validated by AMF (French agency in charge of
financial markets) within 12 to 18 months.
Applicant profile
To support its development, EXQIM seeks a recently graduated doctor of
Computer Science to complete its
applied research unit. He/she must be at the forefront of applied
research in one or several of the following
specialties:
· Machine learning (neural networks, …)
· Genetic algorithms
· Parallel algorithms on very large data sets
· Computer models of financial processes
The successful applicant will not only orient the company in known
application areas and drive them to the
limits of current knowledge, but will also explore various
applications of software to the financial tools being
developed by EXQIM: calibration of real-time strategies, backtesting
of existing strategies, computational
design of new strategies etc.
He/she will be given the general mission to design, define and realize
the specification and development of
new products or new processes, algorithms and computer software, as
well as studies to improve current
products and processes. This will imply the conduct of applied
research, basic studies, tuning, analysis,
tests and implementation of innovative processes.
Job conditions
A permanent contract (contrat à durée indéterminée or CDI) as computer
engineer-researcher under the
clauses of collective agreement convention collective nationale des
sociétés financières. Work in a young,
multi-disciplinary and highly qualified team. Contacts with the
research community in financial mathematics
and applied computer science.
