The notation scheme below is half-whimsical, half-serious. The
serious side is related to my Anti-Math story-notation scheme:

I've been pondering the earliest evolution of the nervous system,
and it struck me that the notion of _space_ must have emerged
gradually from a series of tropisms-- light, gravity, odor, wind,
etc.

To annotate this I first establish conventions for an organism
living under water:
