AT THE VIENNA UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY
The Department of Computer Science of the Vienna University of Technology
is seeking an application for a tenure-track position at the
full university professor level
in the field of
algorithms and data structures
at the Institute of Computer Graphics (expected appointment: October 1st,
2000).
The person to be appointed should represent essential fundamental areas
in research and teaching of computer science and information systems.
The particular main focus lies on algorithms and data structures in a
general form, their theoretical fundamentals and pratical applications.
The applicant should have excellent scientific expertise in at least one
of the following areas:
algorithms and programming methodology
system integration of data structures and algorithms
computer graphics
Annotation:
One specific major research field of the associated working
group is Evolutionary Computation.
Beside the outstanding scientific qualification (habilitation or adequate
comparable achievement), we expect teaching and project experience as
well as a high profile in international research. Leadership experience
and teamwork are considered important.
Obligatory and optional courses within computer science and information
systems are to be given by the applicant in German or English.
The University of Technology in Vienna seeks to increase the number of
women among its research and teaching staff. For this reason, equally
qualified female applicants will be given preference.
