About AI'97
****************************************************************************


AI'97 is the tenth in the successful series of Australian Joint Conferences
on Artificial Intelligence. This exciting annual event is the largest
Australian AI conference and it attracts considerable local and
international participation.

The main theme in 1997 is AI Tools for Multimedia. The goals of the
conference are to promote exchange and cross-fertilisation of ideas among
difference branches of Artificial Intelligence as well as to provide a
common forum for researchers and practitioners in various AI fields to
share their ideas and their experience.

Paper Submission
****************************************************************************

Authors are invited to submit papers describing both theoretical and
applied work in any areas of Artificial Intelligence.
Recognition

Five printed copies of the completed paper must be received by the
Conference Secretariat before or on 2 May 1997.

Fax and electronic submissions are not acceptable.

Preparation of Manuscript

All five hard copies must be printed on A4 paper (or 8.5 x 11 inch2) using
12 point Times font. The left and right margins should be 25 mm each. The
top and bottom margin should be 35 mm each. Each submitted paper must have
a separate title page and a body. The title page must include a title, a
300-400 words abstract, a list of keywords, the names and addresses of all
authors,. their email addresses, and their telephone and fax numbers. The
body must also include the title and abstract, but the author information
must be excluded. The length of submitted papers (excluding the title page)
must be no more than 8 single-spaced, single-column pages including all
figures, tables, and bibliography. Papers not conforming to the above
requirements may be rejected without review.
