On this thread I will post links to some of the greatest races in Canadian swimming history over the past 30+ years

Alex Baumann Men's 400 IM at the 1984 Olympic Games (link here for US broadcast). This was Canada's first gold medal in swimming at the Olympics in 72 years.

Back to 1984 for another classic race. Gold medal and world record for Victor Davis and his famous double arm pump victory celebration.

We will get a little more current today. Penny Oleksiak's 100m Free at the 2016 Rio Olympics was one for the great moments in Canadian Olympic history.

Adding in this one because it's crazy to watch. George Hodgson won the 400 Free and 1500 Free at the 1912 Olympics. I think this is the 400 Free. He was the first Canadian to ever win 2 medals and would be the last swimmer to win a gold medal for the next 72 years.

Our next race is a Brent Hayden double feature.

Brent won Bronze at the 2012 London Olympics in the 100 Free. It was a great race with only 0.01 between first and second.

The second race is from the 2007 World Championships. The race was incredible. Brent ended up being world champion but the difference between first and fifth was 0.09 and only 0.4 separated the whole heat.
