Over the months we will be doing over a dozen yoga practices put together for swimmers by Yoga Instructor and Swim Coach Jeff Grace. These have been developed specifically for swimmers.
In this short class we focus on upper body mobility in several ways. You will work on lengthening the lats and the sides of the body, developing thoracic spine mobility as well as opening up the front of the body.
Many swimmers experience tight hips and quads. Are you one of them? If so this short lower body mobility class will help you release some tension in those areas. Some of the poses used in this class include:
This class focuses on developing mobility throughout the entire body. Moving from head to toe there are poses that focus on the shoulders, chest, thoracic spine, hip flexors, quads, hamstrings and glutes.

If you think a cat nap during your day can help you recover and re-energize you then you haven't tried this amazing short recovery class. Take that same 20 minutes and roll out your yoga mat for a class that will give you a chance to truly restore your energy reserves.
The intent of this practice is to build body awareness. This class has a focus on some simple standing balancing poses. Balances improve body awareness by creating instability, which in turn requires you to listen to your body and make adjustments.

This class is a great way for you to truly take time to rest and recover both physically and mentally. In this class you will work with your breath to help engage the parasympathetic nervous system (the side of the nervous system responsible for rest and regeneration) while performing gentle poses to create release throughout the body.
This class will help you increase range of motion throughout the body. For this class you will need a strap or a substitute for a strap such as a towel, belt, band, etc...
There is a strong focus on the quads and the thoracic spine.
