Calling all Volunteers - Please review our list of August Events for the Huntington Community Gardens - we’d love it if you could lend a hand or pass on the info:

  • Sunday, August 9th – Maintenance Weeding and Fertilizing at the Barnett Center – 2-4pm
Come lend a hand with some light weed pulling, water-based fertilizing, tying up of tomato plants, mowing, etc.

  • Sunday, August 16th – Perennial Planting at Barnett Center and 1016 Minton St – 2-4:30pm
Here’s what we’re hoping to accomplish, depending on the number of volunteers attending
    • Planting of Perennials donated by Wal-Mart at both Barnett Center and 1016 Minton St
    • Transplanting of some Perennials from Barnett Center to 1016 Minton St
    • Spreading Mulch at 1016 Minton St on all walkways
    • Move bags of dirt & cardboard at Barnett Center
    • Organize Barnett Center Garage and Move Pallets in

  • Sunday, August 23rd – Volunteer THANK YOU Party :)  - 2-4:30pm
It’s a Pot-luck Grill-out No-Work fun day, so bring tasty goodies and beverage, bring things to grill, and bring a smile.

  • Sunday August 30th – Clearing and Cleaning Day for 1437 11th Ave  - 2-4:30pm
We look to pull vines & weeds, clear out rubbish and brush, and possibly lay down plant fabric and mulch for walking paths, depending on the number of volunteers attending
