"Yesterday's wind destroyed the gazebo that the Community Gardens had
just purchased and our volunteers built to prepare the Barnett Center
Serenity garden for the National Symphony Orchestra event and Earth
Day.
Next Saturday, April 10th the Barnett Center will be hosting a free
children's event by the National Symphony Orchestra called "The NSO's
Neighborhood Super Duper Outing" from Noon to 3pm, and we need every
bit of help we can get to clean up the gardens and make it beautiful
for that day.
We had a setback this weekend as our structure was destroyed. To get
this space ready by April 10th, we need large decorative plant
containers, a picnic table and help laying mulch and building raised
beds. We would really like to make a great impression. We will be
around every day this week from 9am until ??? please call 304-840-2500
if you can come out any time this week.
If you have supplies or could offer donations, we would really
appreciate it. We lost a large amount of our donations budget with
that destruction.
Dont forget Earth Day on April 22nd from 4-7pm. We need help almost
every day until then, we also need volunteers that day as well as help
getting the word out for the event. Please help support our big push
this week!"
With gratitude,
Jennifer
