Hello all! Due to Junior Master Gardener Training tomorrow, we will be postponing our weekly meeting to Friday.
Garden Reports:
Barnett Center - cabbage, cucumbers and broccoli can be planted this week, all flower beds need to be weeded, we need mowing and weedeating. The pergola is about half way finished, thanks to the McComas family...yay!
Greenhouse - I took lots of the plants to give away to residents, Alex and Eve sold $25 in Basil to the new deli downtown "Third and Ninth"...go by there and try out the pesto! Thaks to Jim Atkinson for watering the greenhouse each day!
Maudella Taylor- There is mulch to be spread, we need to till the gourd patch and other veggie patches, the city will bring us a load of compost this week to finish filling the beds, there are lots of plants that still need to be planted...
Jungle Lot - Nikul and his parents met me on Sunday and we planted two raised beds with flowers and we planted a bunch of blueberries, raspberries, etc. and put up a fence on one side. We still need to plant more. I have put in to have the city chip the last of the tree garbage on the lot and Nikul will contact us for further needs.
Peace Lot - Needs weeding
Seniors Garden - PLanted lots of lettuce and more squash, needs weeding
Northcott Ct - Needs weeding
Carter G. - Needs weeding NOW, needs squash and cucumber replanted and needs tomatoes to be staked up
Marcum Terrace - no new news, probably needs weeding
I will be at JMG training in Charleston Wednesday and Thursday all day. Then Eve and I will be attending the American Community Gardening Conference in Atlanta from August 4- 9 so there will NOT be a weekly HCG meeting the first week of August.
Blessings,
