Unable to receive email while registration

Hello
I am new to CommunityGroup, I have just cloned and install it to work on my RoR ap.
when I try to create a new user, I do not receive an activation email, it is probably related to the email setting

?what/how to I configure CommunityGroups to enable email sending during registration of new use
