Hello all..
Our regularly scheduled board meeting is next Wednesday at 7pm.  I checked in with El Fadel and he is unable to attend.  The only times that he has to meet are during the day from 12-3pm (I'm not positive which days for sure though).  Do people want to try to meet during the day?  Or we could have our Board meeting at the regular time and then maybe some folks could meet with El Fadel before hand to get his input.
What do folks want to do?

With the uncertainties around the future of the Center at our current location, I think it is really important for us to think about what we want to do moving forward.  First, I think the organizations that are currently at the Center should share what they want and are interested in doing and then the rest of us that are on the board should share what we want to do.  From there we could figure out a plan to move forward.

I would propose then potentially having a follow up meeting and inviting more people and organizations to come to talk about what possible collaborations could exist for a new space.  I have heard various ideas out there of things people want to do including a maker's space, art studios, a print shop, more accessible community space, dance studio, rehearsal spaces, a worker-run laundromat, and more.  So it will be an opportunity to talk about what people want for a new space.

The Meg Perry Center has been around for 6 years this summer.  Over those 6 years we've had lots of great things happen at the Center and we have had a lot of challenges, so now with this new challenge of uncertainty over our future at our current location, it gives us an opportunity to examine how we want to move forward and how we can best serve the needs of our community and work to create social change here in Portland.

If you have specific agenda items feel free to send them to me.

Thanks,

Jonah
