First Meeting of Community Workshop Group

My apologies for not getting this going sooner! I've been involved
with Photography Group etc..
If you are particularly interested in the Community Workshop idea and
would like to help organizing it or deciding how it will work, please

I am working on a location for the first meeting, and the agenda...
About 50 people have expressed interest, and I think we will have a
very interesting and active group.
Jim Whitehead and I did an Expedition to Jeddah to the Lumberyards and
Shops area near the Airport the other day, and there are GREAT
supplies of wood, including hardwoods, metals of all kinds, and
tools! (They have 6mm 5-Ply Plywood! So I'm starting to build a Kayak
soon) One Group activity will be to set up a good way for members to
get materials and tools delivered here at KAUST. If you know
something about getting things delivered here, please email..
If you would like to be a focal point for a particular Workshop area,
such as Metalworking, Boatbuilding, Furniture construction, Model
Airplanes, Weaving, or (Your Interest) please email. We'll set up
these Interest Areas.
I hope to announce the meeting time and place soon.. 7 PM in the
Campus area seems like a good choice...
