QUOTE FROM THE BOOK: Those of us who sit in an office often feel a
lack of connection to the material world, a sense of loss, and find it
difficult to say exactly what we do all day. For those who felt
hustled off to college, then to the cubicle, against their own
inclinations and natural bents, Shop Class as Soulcraft seeks to
restore the honor of the manual trades as a life worth choosing.

Please tell us what you're thinking about this, and what you think a
Community Workshop could be like, and do for us.

Please tell us a bit about yourself, and what areas of design and
building/making you are interested in.

I'd like to have access to woodworking tools, as well as metalworking
tools and space.

I am interested in projects surrounding furniture, person/home
interaction and lighting. I maintain a list of particular projects I
would either like to one day do, or consider for inspiration:

I used to work HVAC with my dad, and so most of the skills I can
contribute relate to metalworking. So, if for some strange reason
someone has a project involving sheetmetal in mind, I could probably
help you out.

I've had requests to find / read the book...

I have one hard copy and three people in the lineup now..
- I will post some excerpts
- I am trying to buy it as an ebook, which will be easier to pass
around.
- Can someone check the University Library??
