to Community Workshop at KAUST
Do you Build things? Design things? Make things at Home? Have Tools?
Want to learn new hands-on skills, and share ideas,
designs,enthusiasm, and your own skills?

Please join with others at KAUST in starting a self-directed group
that may be called "The Community Workshop". Many of us have limited
workshop space in our housing, and our personal tools may have not
come with us. Together we can advocate for places and ways and tools
with which to enjoy our interest in hands-on accomplishments.

We want to provide a workspace, tools, materials, and information and
encourage collaboration, workshops and sharing of expertise and
experiences.

The Community Workshop at KAUST is finally getting off the ground!
Our first meeting will be this coming Sunday, April 18th at 7 PM in
Room 2322 (Lecture Hall 1 ) in Building 9. POSTERS are in the FILE
AREA on the right. If you can put up a poster in your area (A4 and A3
PDF's are there) please print one or two (Bringing the PDF on a
flashdrive to the many Lexmark X940E printers usually works).

At the meeting we'll talk about the different areas you are interested
in, and how we can work together to form this group and get KAUST
support as a Self-Directed-Group. We will collaborate with the newly-
formed Art/Ceramics group and the Photography Group, because "Most of
the really interesting things are Multi-Disciplinary !"

Please think about volunteering to be involved with guiding the
group. This should be a group that is "Led from the Bottom". Please
volunteer to help lead one of the main areas such as Woodworking,
Metalworking, Boatbuilding, Electronics, Model making, etc. And please
suggest other hands-on areas of interest. In particular it would be
great if someone would lead a group that provides projects
specifically for young people.

Please join us at the meeting! Regards, Terry King
