Hello All,

I was just talking with Ian Mathieson this morning - one of the panel
participants at yesterday's symposium and the Peace Ambassador
Coordinator at the Centre for Race and Culture - and he said that he
wanted to attend one of our future Community Response Meetings
(probably next week's). Since he sits on the Hate Crimes Committee
(correct me if I'm wrong), I think it would be advantageous to get his
impression about yesterday's proceedings and act as an a conduit, and
possible ally, between us (the community) and the EPS. Just letting
you all know.

Oh, and more importantly, congratulations everyone on doing such an
AMAZING job yesterday - I don't think it could have gone better, and
it's all because we are such an incredibly passionate and
well-organized group. And let's not forget to thank those few who have
really busted their asses to put together such an effective panel
presentation AND protest in such a short time span: Lucas, Carmen,
Ted, Megan, and Robert. If there are any others that I've forgotten
(and I'm sure I have, my apologies), please send your own gesture of
thanks to the group email.

Let's keep the momentum going!

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to echo Marcus' sentiments - last night was awesome!
Thank you to everyone for coming and participating in both events with
such thoughtful and important "community response[s]." Thanks to all
of the wonderful speakers, to Elaine and Nat, to all of the people who
helped book speakers, and more and more and more thanks and
congratulations.

On the topic of Ian Mathieson's request to visit our group, thanks for
the info Marcus! I hope we can discuss all such stuff at the meeting
tomorrow evening. On that note, hope to see you all there.

A hearty cheers to all, and here's to more!

Lucas

ps: keep it locked on the Edmonton Journal tomorrow for two op-eds
about hate crimes legislation. Big issue, especially as Bill C-389
went to debate today. More talk on this tomorrow, maybe?

Hi all,

Here's a link to that Op-Ed in the Journal that Lucas was talking
about. I also posted it to the CRP facebook page and to my own news
feed.

See you all tonight!
