Folks,

 

On a bit of a different note.  The official Mayfield Yacht Club calendar is out and I’d like to get the dates out so we try for a big catamaran turn out.   For those that haven’t done any of one of them they are all great events each in their own way.   Feel free to contact me for additional information.  The dates are as follows:

 

Long Distance Race (LDR) – Saturday, June 21^st ( with the pancake breakfast/awards on the 22^nd)

Charity Cup Regatta (CCR) – Saturday, August 16^th

Back to School Race (BTS) – Saturday, September 6^th

 

There will be plenty of hands to rig boats and get everyone on the water.   Hope to see everyone there.

Hey Matt,

 

I didn’t realize they were doing the Belmont thing again this year at Saratoga.   I would say that does put a crimp/spin on the June 7^th date.   The Belmont runs from Thursday to Sunday, correct?

FYI -- the Belmost will be June 7th -- town may be a bit crowded.  I'd tend to say the 14th. But my vote shouldn't be weighted much -- my participation is in flux -- depending on the family and the conditions appropriate for a 7yo crew :)

Community Fleet races I can move around to place them where there is space.  I think there will be four of them.   What is set more in stone are the Mayfield Yacht Club “Big Four”.   The Long Distance Race (LDR) is set for June 21^st, the Back to School Race (BTS) for September 6^th and the Charity Cup Regatta most likely for August 16^th and last but not least, the Ladies’ Race likely on August 2^nd.  

 

If we need, I can verify the CCR in the next few weeks when the official MYC calendar is published.

Happy New Year. It's time to get sailing scheduled.

 

SMOR 2025 is currently scheduled on June 7th, 2025, because that date fits on the SLSC regatta schedule.  I'm done with the late season drifters of the past. Hopefully, we will get some good wind in June and less weed in the lake. Recently, I've learned that some skippers can't make the June 7th date.   

 

Recently, the Laser Derby got moved, so now June 14 has become available. Are more boats available for that weekend? I am willing to change the date if it means that more boats can attend. 

 

Please let me know soon if you prefer June 7th, 2025, or June 14th.

 

SMOR will be a one or two day event depending on whether any boats are coming from off the lake. So far, it is a one day event since no one from off the lake as committed.
