Does anyone from google ever even bother to check what's going on with
their POS system?
Is it really so much to ask that when a business listing is claimed,
the street address marker be claimed with it?
Seriously, what good is a map if you have to look up the business
specifically instead of being able to look up the street address of
the business? I just spent half an hour trying to explain to a
business rep., that's supposed to be making a guest appearance
tonight, how the google maps address marker is so far off that you
can't even see the place from where it is, and how to ACTUALLY get to
the location.
This is starting to impact our business. New members and prospective
members can't find us when they try. Services have to call because
we're not where the map said. We even had one delivery so far that
just gave up and went back, we're arguing with the company who is
insisting that we gave them a bad address because the google map shows
the location wrong.
Numerous corrections have been submitted and ignored (more likely
deleted.) While we might not be able to legally force google to stop
showing the street address marker, it won't take much time in court at
all to be awarded damages for lost business as long as it continues to
send customers to the wrong location.
We are up to six weeks of this, with more and more problems every
day. Despite our good faith efforts to correct this, google has
consistently ignored us, made themselves unreachable, and even this
forum has been of NO help whatsoever. At the rate this is progressing
we may not have any choice but to pursue legal means just to stay in
business.
Thanks google, you've reminded us why the other search companies are
still more competition than you can handle.

It would indeed be helpful if you can provide us with the co-
ordinates of the place where the marker should be ideally and where
it's currently displayed (as observed by you). You can do this by
Right Clicking near the location, then selecting 'Whats Here'.
@BLACKJACK: Can you please provide the link to your listing so that
we may investigate?

I'd like to hope that it will stay put for a change. Honestly though
I have my doubts, it still shows that there are "unverified edits" and
the link to view those edits doesn't appear to work. Only time will
tell if it will stay.
I would still like to know why the street address isn't attached to
the business though. Updating one should update the other. Claiming
the business should prevent people from messing with the street
address. Without this it's really rather stupid to even bother with
google places as the only reliable way to look anything up would be to
look up the business itself and hope it's been claimed and fixed since
looking street addresses are so unreliable...
Are there any plans in the works to fix this obvious flaw?
