Subject: Veterans 2 Entrepreneurs Training Seminar on Dec. 19 (Register now!)

Good afternoon friends and colleagues,

The next Mission: Veterans 2 Entrepreneurs Training Seminar will be Thursday, December 19, at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn.  This event is an exceptional, no-cost opportunity for veteran business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs to network with like-minded professionals and obtain expert training honed to their individual business aspirations. This event is hosted by the Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs, Illinois Central Management Services, and the College of DuPage.

Attendees will have the opportunity to choose from one of three tracks based on where their business is in the entrepreneurial process (i.e. concept stage, start-up, or established):

TRACK 1:  BUSINESS CONCEPT TO BUSINESS MODEL

What does it take to start and manage a successful business?  What are the first steps?  Entrepreneurial experts will give you the initial direction you need, teach you about the legal aspects of starting a business, and help you launch your idea into action.  With presenters from:

·         John Marshall Law School

·         UIC Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies

TRACK 2:  GROWING YOUR START-UP

Federal, state and local governments have millions set aside for contracts with veteran-owned firms, but how do companies sell to the government?  How do start-ups obtain micro-loans, grants and other financing?  How do start-ups get their business online?  Learn here.  With presenters from:

·         Illinois Chief Procurement Office

·         U.S. General Services Administration

·         Illinois Central Management Services

TRACK 3:  SCALING YOUR BUSINESS

You have a solid client case, but how do you keep your business growing?  How do you gain an edge on the competition?  How do you branch out into new markets?  How do you roll out new products and services?  This session is for you.  With presenters from:

·         AT&T

·         U.S. Small Business Administration

·         Procurement Technical Assistance Center

WHEN:  8:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2013

WHERE:  College of DuPage – Student Resource Center (SRC 2000), located at 425 Fawell Blvd Glen Ellyn, IL 60137 (map)

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED:  Please visit the following page to get your free ticket:  https://www.eventbrite.com/event/9110328237

Hello,

Question, the VetCorps have helped to get involved with a program that is being funded through a grant from UT-Pan Am campus down here. I see it is similar to the one described below.

Q? Are you wanting stories on these types of events available to Veterans from our areas?

I just don’t want to inundate you with stuff that you may not want.
