The purpose of this technical conference is to initiate a public process that considers necessary organizational and mission changes in PJM governance to establish an active participatory role for member states and jurisdictions.

--- PJM has been under scrutiny regarding 

- its process for allowing renewable energy projects to reach approvals, primarily due to capacity constraints in the grid

- the increase in capacity costs that led to the inflation in consumers' electricity rates

- how it will handle the increasing electricity demand for data centers and electrification needs for EV's, heat pumps, etc.
